The house dates to the 1840’s and was once the home of Frederick Horsman Varley, famed Group of Seven member, during the last 12 years of his life. In his studio on the lower level of the house, Varley created various portraits and landscapes inspired by the surrounding area.

Now used for art exhibitions, local artists can rent the main level of this beautiful Victorian-era home to showcase their work. Ideally located on picturesque Main Street Unionville, the McKay Art Centre attracts art lovers, tourists, history buffs and locals alike.
